for the Koalas

The recent bushfires have had a devastating impact on our Australian environment and species. The Koala, already endangered, has been made almost extinct with land clearing. The most recent fires along the east coast of Australian have nearly wiped out the last of our native Koalas. 

Join UMAMA Yoga in our last event for 2019, coming together to raise much needed funds for the Port Macquarie Koala Hospital and their initiatives to save the last of The Australian Koala.

 

100%  of the proceeds of this class will be donated to the Port Macquarie Koala Hospital. We will also be taking donations on the day. Spaces are limited. Please book to avoid missing out!

Aboriginal Smoking Ceremony

& New Year

Intention Setting Gathering.

UMAMA Yoga is very proud to be partnering with the local indigenous community to welcome in 2020 with a traditional Aboriginal smoking ceremony and intention setting workshop. 

In this workshop we will gather on sacred land, as we share ideas and inspiration to set our intentions for the new year. We will welcome local elders who will share with us the significance of an Aboriginal smoking ceremony and its cleansing and healing qualities. 

We would love to welcome all to this unique gathering. The event is open to everyone, there will be no movement based practices on the day. All proceeds from this event will be given over to the local indigenous community to support with Aboriginal cultural programs.

Connect in, improve your concentration and reduce stress in the mind and body.

This class is pregnancy friendly. Please ensure your health practitioner has cleared you for practice before attending.

Vinyasa Yoga is a flowing, dynamic sequence of poses that is one of the most popular styles of yoga.

Sometimes called "Vinyasa Flow Yoga," this type of practice involves synchronizing the breath with a continuous flow of postures.

 

The fluid, almost dance-like movements increase flexibility, strength, and stamina, as it calms the mind and improves overall health.

If yoga was something you enjoyed before baby, then mums and bubs yoga could be the perfect way to help you make time for and nourish yourself, and maintain your all-important sense of self – which is often forgotten in the newborn haze!  We also love welcoming new mother's into these groups, some, who have never tried Yoga before.

These classes are open to all levels including beginners. We recommend that you wait at least 6 weeks after birthing your baby before attending. In each class we will work through movement, breath work and meditation. You will also learn how to guide your baby through gentle yoga postures to support you in bonding and having fun with your baby..

What is a community circle? This auspicious evening is a night of mediation, movement, community and a little pinch o activism for both MEN and WOMEN. Communities have been gathering in circles since the beginning of time to share experiences, stories, thoughts, ideas and prayers.

Loneliness is a growing issue for all ages. With the rise of social media and 'convenience' living we have never before felt more isolated. Our monthly circles are curated to create connection not only to others but also a deep connection and listening to our selves.
